Using hand cream on face is right or wrong?

As we all know our skin is primarily the largest organ of our bodies. Although it is spread throughout our body yet it is not the same. By ‘not the same’ we mean, that at some places skin is thick, whereas at some places it is thin and very sensitive. The skin of our face is far more soft and thin as related to the skin on our body.

The skin helps protect and cover the internal body organs.  But when the texture and thickness differ all over the body then using the same product for every place makes no sense. Mostly people use the same towel to wipe the private parts and face.

Our hands deal with fluent exposure to water, dirt, grime and detergents, thus a mild product as a face cream would do no good to it. Our face, on the other hand, deals with daily pollution, the oil and sebum produced by our body, and need something better than a hand cream to cure itself.

Are hand creams suitable for face as well?

No, hand creams are not as mild as the product we use on our face. The face skin is lot more thin and delicate than our hand. Hand creams are generally same for everyone but as our face skin differs from others, there is a wide range of different creams that we need to choose according to our skin type. Using hand cream can do more harm than doing some good.

Differences between a face cream and a hand cream:

The major difference between the two is the ingredients they are composed of. The amount of moisture that a best hand cream provides is more than a face cream. The primary work of a hand cream is to prevent damage through frequent exposure to water whereas a face cream provides nourishment, healing, and rejuvenates the face skin.

About the face and the hand creams

While manufacturing a hand cream, this thing is kept in mind that the ingredients are able to provide nourishment to the skin or not. Whereas while production of face creams the first and foremost thing that is kept in mind is that the ingredients should be light and mild for the sensitive skin of our face. The second thing that is taken care of is that the cream can easily be absorbed by the skin. If the cream remains of the skin for longer time it may seem that the face gets oily. As such the production of oil and sebum is the prime reason for the production of acne and pimples.

Bottom Line

Hereby, we must say that before purchasing any product, go through the ingredient list. It is well and good if it is made of natural ingredients but if a few chemicals are used then make sure that it does not contain any parabens, SLS or sulphates. Mineral oils are also cancerous for our skin so make sure you purchase a product free from mineral oils.
